Bocce Day 2006

The Lincroft Village Green Association hosted its first Bocce Day at the Green on September 16th, 2006.  After two days of rain, the skies cleared in time for a beautiful, warm, sunny, fall day--perfect weather for bocce.  Many residents stopped by to play bocce, enjoy a free hot dog or slice of watermelon or just chat with their neighbors.  The younger visitors to the park enjoyed a game of kickball.

Many expressed interest in playing bocce regularly at the Green. Anyone interested in joining a Lincroft Bocce League, please call Abe at 732-769-9881 or email us at info@lincroftvillagegreen.org.

We would like to thank the many volunteers and businesses who donated their time and resources to make this day a huge success. In particular we would like to thank volunteers Jack DeSantis, the Bocce Tournament Director, and Mary Mahoney, the Bocce Day Chairperson, for their tremendous efforts in running and planning this fun event.

We would also like to thank the Parks & Recreation Department of the Township of Middletown for their maintenance of the Green and their loan of equipment for the event.

In keeping with the community spirit and cooperation that characterizes the Lincroft Village Green Association the day’s festivities were sponsored by Butch’s Car Wash in conjunction with other local businesses. The Bocce court was built gratis by Danny Quagliato of Danny’s Lawn Service, and all materials for its constructions were provided by Fitzpatrick and Associates of Tinton Falls. Many thanks to the local business owners who supported the event with their donations.
