The LVGA has been in contact with the County Engineering Office in 2004 regarding CR520. The following information has been provided by Mr. Ted Giannechini, County Engineer.

The county has awarded a contract to the engineering firm of Schoor DePalma to study the feasibility of building a one-lane roundabout at the CR520 entrance of Brookdale Community College. The roundabout would replace the current traffic light and cancel any plans for jughandles. Mr. Giannechini expects that the study will be completed by the end of 2004, and, if approved, the roundabout could be built during 2005.

All other plans for CR520 have been put on hold until after the roundabout has been completed. If the roundabout is successful, future roundabouts at the CR520 intersections with Phalanx Road and CR50 may be built.

Update:  The County Engineering Department presented two proposals for improving the main entrance of Brookdale Community College on December 20, 2004 to the Middletown Township Committee.  more>
